Summary:
Reinvented Worlds, Monoceros (The Unicornu) - Vol 3 in 4 movements by John Gardner

Beta Monocerotis in A Minor: This movement as part of Gardners Symphony: Reinvented Worlds (Vol 3 Monoceros The Unicornu) was inspired by the beautiful triple star system Beta Monocerotis with it's fascinating Rosette Nebula known for its amazing colours and pattern emissions.

Alpha Monocerotis in D: This movement as part of Gardners Symphony: Reinvented Worlds (Vol 3 Monoceros The Unicornu) was inspired by Alpha Monocerotis, is the brightest star in the equatorial constellation of Monoceros. It can be viewed with the naked eye by humans from earth.

Gamma Monocerotis in E: This movement as part of Gardners Symphony: Reinvented Worlds (Vol 3 Monoceros The Unicornu) was inspired by this class K giant, (Smythe and Chambers, writing from the nineteenth century, calling it "a fine orange star") and one certainly very luminous.

Epsilon Monocerotis in A: This movement as part of Gardners Symphony: Reinvented Worlds (Vol 3 Monoceros The Unicornu) was inspired by Epsilon Monocerotis, this wonderous aging subgiant star.

These series of works, called “Reinvented Worlds” Vol. 1-4, is an extraordinary 2 hour-long series of albums of original orchestral pieces.
Through a journey of exposition, development, and recapitulation Gardner’s music is a meandering adventure of movement and colour. The intricate symmetries and microtonally tinged canons, sonatas, small ternaries, scherzos, minuets, fugues and fugatos weave a sweetly sinister path... an icy, fragile world that Gardner had been mapping out for himself, and which now is offered to the listener when reflecting a melancholy time, challenging a tough period, looking in the skies in wonderment, pondering an old love or simply offering support when in a state of being pleasantly lost in one's daydreaming reverie.
There is the feeling and sense of there being something timeless and utterly inevitable about Reinvented Worlds.
