These series of works, called “Reinvented Worlds” Vol. 1-4, is an extraordinary 2 hour-long series of albums of original orchestral pieces.
Through a journey of exposition, development, and recapitulation Gardner’s music is a meandering adventure of movement and colour. The intricate symmetries and microtonally tinged canons, sonatas, small ternaries, scherzos, minuets, fugues and fugatos weave a sweetly sinister path... an icy, fragile world that Gardner had been mapping out for himself, and which now is offered to the listener when reflecting a melancholy time, challenging a tough period, looking in the skies in wonderment, pondering an old love or simply offering support when in a state of being pleasantly lost in one's daydreaming reverie.
There is the feeling and sense of there being something timeless and utterly inevitable about Reinvented Worlds.
